PREVIEW OF REUNION EVENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES
Reunions aren't just for dinner any more

   As proof, we've received a number of requests and ideas for an expanded slate of reunion events to start on Thursday afternoon, August 12. If you're coming from out of town why not plan to arrive in Latrobe early enough to enjoy some of these events with more opportunities to relax with old classmates? If you live here just come on down and see who shows up.
(And, for that matter, there are other things to do and places to go so you don't have to wait until Thursday)

THURSDAY, AUGUST 12

1:30-3:30 PM
PAVILIONS AT LEGION-KEENER FIELD
SHORTS AND TOPS - RAIN OR SHINE

MEET AND GREET CLASSMATES AND HELP US ASSEMBLE REUNION MATERIALS (... if you're so inclined)  ( Bring a beverage - Sorry, no alchohol, please).

FRIDAY, AUGUST 13

1:30-3:30 PM
PAVILIONS AT LEGION-KEENER FIELD
SHORTS AND TOPS - RAIN OR SHINE

FUNSY SPORTS FEST WITH FRISBEES, FUNGOES, WHIFFLE BALLS, LOYALHANNA CREEK COIN TOSS, AND __________ (YOU DECIDE).    Games between our grade schools? Equipment provided.   Loosen and lighten up before the soiree at the Schifano's. (Bring your own non-alcoholic beverages)  (We know it's Friday, but the Rec Board has their rules)

6:00-10:30 PM
AT THE SCHIFANO'S

PARTY WITH CHARLIE AND CONNIE   as previously announced and mapped.
    If you told us you're coming to the party when you returned your invitation and sent in your money we'll see you there.   Let's be fair to Charlie and Connie, if you didn't sign up for the Friday night party, please don't surprise them ... and embarass us.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 14

9:30-10:30AM

TOUR OF OUR BELOVED ALMA MATER, LHSsee note<   and the
MUSEUM OF THE LATROBE HISTORICAL SOCIETY   housed inside our old LHS building. (Now the elementary school).

Meet by the entrance at the corner of Jefferson and Minihan Avenues around 9:20.

11:00 - 12:30

TOUR OF G.L.H.S.see note See the art collection, Student Creativity Center, and trophy rooms,
  PLUS
"Latrobe and Surrounding Communities in the 1950s and 1960s"   a bonus slide show presentation and open forum with Latrobe celebrities Mary Lou Townsend and Barbara Nakles.  (Maybe we'll see you at the playground

Meet by the entrance to the G.L.H.S. auditorium around 10:50.

NOTE:
    Of course we'll have the class picture but be sure to bring your own camera and take LOTS of shots -- informal, ad lib, candid, (exposé ?), gather up your grade school gang and pose them for a real memory.    In any case ... after the reunion we expect to have a picture gallery where you (everyone) can upload your pictures to share.
    Regarding the class photo -- obviously we want EVERYONE to be IN the picture.   Now, if you want to have your very own copy of the picture to place on the mantelpiece and bore the grandkids you will have to fork over $12, in cash or check, when you sign in at the reunion.   Then you fill in your mailing address on an envelope that will be at the desk. Within a week your photo will be on its way to you in the mail.
    We think you will like the cozy and informal atmosphere of DeNunzio's party/banquet room with its view looking down across the runway and across the green fields.
